Poyet has been sacked as AEK manager as the Greek club will start searching for his replacement imminently.
The ex-Boca Juniors manager Rodolfo Arruabarrena has already been linked with a job as well as the former Olympiakos and Marseille manager Michel.
Michel yesterday left Marseille and he could attract AEK's interest, SportDay newspaper understands.
AEK are believed to admire Michel as a manager, while talks have been held in the past.
