According to O'Jogo newspaper Leicester are looking to add a striker over the summer and Mitroglou has attracted their interest after his superb displays so far this season.
The Greek striker who is on loan from Fulham at Benfica is enjoying a great season having scored in every single of the last seven games in the Portuguese League.
Leicester are believed to have sent a scout to watch Mitroglou in the game against Pacos Fereira on Saturday.
Mitroglou scored a goal paving the way to Benfica to claim a 3-1 away victory.
Benfica want to activate the buy-out clause of Mitroglou from Fulham which is believed to be in the region of 7 million euros.
