Panathinaikos have already accepted a bid in the region of 2,5 million euros from Genk and the Greek striker flew to Belgium to complete the move.
Karelis is set to undergo medical and Genk will announce his transfer imminently.
It is believed that the Greek striker will pen a 3,5 year deal.
