The 20-year-player took a citizenship oath at a special ceremony held at Central Makedonia region headquarters.
"It is an honour", Vezenkov said. "I was born and raised in Cyprus and then I came to Greece. Greek culture and education is in my blood. Everything inside me is Greek. My life style, the way of thinking. I miss Greece".
Vezenkov can now play as a Greek in the Basket League and although he has represented the Bulgarian national team, he could play for Greece if the Federations and FIBA agree.
