As revealed on October 10th by SDNA, the 50 year old German coach is the chosen one by the Greek Football Federation to guide our National team after the departure of Sergio Markarian. Since yesterday evening SDNA informed you on the developments, Michael Skibbe traveled to Greece incognito, arrived yesterday in Athens and met with Giorgos Gkirtzikis. This was the second meeting between the two men, who met two weeks ago in Istanbul.
The annual salary of the German coach, who may already have departed from Greece will reach 570,000 euros, the agreement between both sides is for Skibbe to bring with him the coaching staff, an assistant and Kostas Tsanas too, who was the acting National coach. Next Thursday at the meeting of the Board of EPO it will become official and announcements will be made.
Skibbe will travel again to Athens the first days of November and might be the one who will sit on the bench of the national team for the friendly game against Luxembourg on 13/11.
