Unprecedented events, regarding the Greek football, are coming to light! Snda.gr reveals what the special investigator for corruption Giorgos Andreadis, having already studied the relevant files, summoned manager Dimitris Kalaitzidis (Veroia's coach back in 2013) and Nikos Georgeas (player of Veroia).
Both Kalaitzidis and Georgeas testified that at the halftime of the game between Olympiacos and Veroia they were asked to lose the match with over 2.5 goals (3 or more goals in total). In detail, Kalaitzidis and Georgeas said that Veroia's general manager Giorgos Lanaris went into the locker room and gave the order to the players and the coaching stuff to lose deliberately the game!
Before the beginning of the second half Veroia player (who now plays for AEK) Nikos Georgeas asked Dimitris Kalaitzidis (current Aris manager) to be substituted, so Kalogeris took his place in the 49th minute. Five minutes later Mitroglou scored the first goal for Olympiacos and then Pantelis Kafes, another former Veroia player, asked to be substituted as well. He was replaced in the 68th minute by Giorgos Skatharoudis, who didn't play any other match before or after that!
The special corruption interrogator Giorgos Andreadis called Dimitris Kalaitzidis and Nikos Georgeas at his office and asked them to confirm that general manager Giorgos Lanaris had asked them to lose the game with "over". They both did, so the interrogator has concluded that the match was fixed.
Andreadis has filed charges against former Veroia president Giorgos Arvanitidis and Giorgos Lanaris, who have a deadline for plea.
According to betting analysts, about 6 million euros were placed on that game and 50% of them were betted at halftime...
