Lawal has not been in decent form since he joined Paanthinaikos despite the expectations he created with the move to the Greens.
However, despite the fact that he has dropped down the pecking order, Lawal is very happy at Panathinaikos as he can't wait to lift the Greek Cup in the final against Apollon Patras this afternoon.
“Since I moved to Athens I was delighted. And I'm still excited. I feel nice and I'm waiting the opportunity. When I'll be asked to help the team I'll do it. That did not happen against Alba, but I will be ready when the times comes. It will be a great honour to lift the trophy with Panathinaikos. It will be my first with the Greens,” Lawal told SDNA.
Moreover the American center praised Panathinaikos fans for the support they are showing. “Our supporters stood by us in the game against Alba Berlin despite the defeat. This support must be shown against Apollon Patras as well. Our crowd helps us a lot. We want to lift this trophy. Then we have to win in Belgrade as well. These two games are must-win. But we will fight till the end and we will give everything in order to go through to the play-offs and claim the first trophy of the season,” Lawal underlined.
