Thousands supporters of Olympiakos, who wanted to express their complaints after the disappointing performance and the Champions League elimination of their beloved team with comments at the official Facebook page of the club, saw their messages... disappearing!
Only the first hour after the away loss against Hapoel Be'er Sheva in Israel, more than 3.000 messages were sent to the official Facebook page of Olympiakos, from angry fans who were extremely frustrated with manager Victor Sanchez, his players and most of all president Vangelis Marinakis and his associates.
Simple and hardcore supporters of Olympiakos were blaming the president and owner of the club because he did not strengthen the squad with transfers during this summer and some other things. This is reasonable, since the Reds were used to performing at least to Champions League's group stage until this season.
What seems unbelievable and raises many concern about the respect of Olympiakos' administration towards the fans of the historic club, is that the administrators of the official Facebook page started immediately erasing ALL (!) the negative comments about Vangelis Marinakis and his close associates.
We should also remind you that the administrators of the official Facebook page were trying to stop the fans of the Reds from expressing their opinion after the first game against Hapoel Be'er Sheva at Karaiskaki Stadium (0-0) as well. To be honest, it took to SDNA... a few hours to notice it then.
SDNA's plan was to write down the reaction of Olympiakos' supporter at the official Facebook page of the club after the goalless draw against the champions of Israel, but we were surprised by noticing that we could only read... 6 of the 386 comments at the posts related to the game!
Of course, the weird decision of Olympiakos' administration to not allow the fans of the Reds express their opinion via Internet made them angry. "The democratic official Facebook page of Olympiakos is erasing and blocking ALL the negative comments. How do you feel about that?", was a typical message of a fan about that case.
"Claque for life" of healthy fans with the right of their opinion?
Unfortunately, we are obliged to ask a few tough questions after that unbelievable move of Olympiakos' administration.
Which is the real opinion of president and owner Vangelis Marinakis for the fans of the Reds?
Vangelis Marinakis has any respect about the supporters of Olympiakos or not?
Their opinions are important for him, or he is just considering them to be "claque for life", who will be stopped immediately when they refuse to cheer the team no matter what?
Nevertheless, SDNA, a website which respects the opinion of the fans of historic Olympiakos (and all the other clubs of course) managed to write down all their messages after the disappointing away loss against Hapoel Be'er Sheva and it will present them to its readers soon...
