Everybody is trying to understand who is the member of the team Grigoris Georgatos' blaming for the departure of manager Marco Silva and his from Olympiakos, after his very important interview at "Fos" athletic newspaper (a great Media success) on Friday.
So, many people know the truth, but I am not sure if they are willing to say it. I was probably the only journalist who asked some questions about Grigoris Georgatos' unexpected departure from Olympiakos and the reasons of it when it happened in June... Because the former international footballer proved once again through his interview how much he loves Olympiakos and that his only desire is to see the club advancing to the next round of Champions League against Hapoel Be'er Sheva... Because it is not right watching other people being accused by certain "interests" after his interview...
I am writing this article based on very reliable information, as I have done at the end of June, when that issue was excluded: Grigoris Georgatos is not blaming Savvas Theodorids, Christian Karembeu, Olympiakos' officials Giannikos, Kountouris, Dourekas or any journalists related to the club, nowadays or in the past.
Grigoris Georgatos is certainly not blaming Vangelis Marinakis and confirmed our reportage via his interview at "Fos", since we have written back then that in spite of his departure, his relationship with the president of Olympiakos was not broken.
So, which person is Grigoris Georgatos blaming? Those who do not know the answer, could ask the vice president of Olympiakos, Mr. Giannis Vrentzos. The man who is "controlling" the club in many important issues, especially after Vangelis Marinakis' punishment for life from any football activity. The response of Mr. Vrentzos would had definitely been extremely interesting.
On June 23, when manager Marco Silva left the club and Victor Sanchez replaced him, 24 hours after Grigoris Georgatos' departure from Olympiakos, I had written an article at SDNA, mentioning that "reliable sources confirm the frustration of club's administration (of Giannis Vertzos personally, some people say), about Grigoris Georgatos, because he... did not kept the foreign players of the squad focused on Greek Cup final against AEK, and that is an important detail of the next day..."
After the interview of Grigoris Georgatos, it seems that it was not just a detail of the next day.
Grigoris Georgatos stated that he is aware of the (real) reasons Marco Silva had to leave Olympiakos, because the Portuguese manager called him and told him the truth 15 days later. So, it seems that Marco Silva did not leave Olympiakos because... "he was not focused on team's season targets and for personal reasons", but because of something much more serious. Nobody has the right of predicting things in such serious cases. It would have been very important for the supporters of Olympiakos, if Marco Silva or Grigoris Georgatos were willing to explain what happened in the future.
The most important problem lies elsewhere. If we accept that Grigoris Georgatos was 100% honest about "a member of Olympiakos that was stabbing Marco Silva and me behind our backs", it is a very serious complaint. It seems that this unknown person was also responsible for Portuguese manager's departure, with everything he said to Vangelis Marinakis. And I think that the majority of Olympiakos' fans believe that the departure of Marco Silva will hurt Olympiakos ahead of next season, no matter if the champions will finally manage to advance after Wednesday's match in Israel.
To conclude, because many people are aware of those who were not really accused by Grigoris Georgatos' statement, it would had been extremely interesting to learn if the vice president of Olympiakos, Mr. Giannis Vrentzos, knows which member of the club the former athletic director is blaming for manager Marco Silva and his departure. Of course, Mr. Vrentzos has offered a lot to the administration of Olympiakos and he will continue doing his good work...
