"When I signed with Royal Halı Gaziantep at 2013, I was part of an ambitious plan. They were claiming that the budget would be increased every season and aiming to reach the level of the top four clubs. When I understood that this was not going to happen, I decided to accept the first serious offer and leave. One year before, Olympiakos had approached me, but I preferred to stay.
If they had insisted, I would had accepted their offer, but that would not had been healthy for the team. Many people believe that the most important thing is how you finish the season, we managed to get the 3rd Basket League's position, this was kind of a success for AEK, of course I would preferred to win the title, but this is very difficult because there are two very strong opponents.
It is very important even competing with those two clubs, which are among the best in Europe at recent seasons. That's why I spent so much energy in the semi finals against Olympiakos. I really wanted to reach the finals, but it was extremely difficult. At the 3rd place finals, we managed to beat Aris and win the silver medal, maybe it does not matter a lot but it was kind of important for us.
We finally manage to get a success, even if during the season there were many ups and downs, it was a difficult year for AEK and we changed many foreign players. I had also a role in that, but it is not easy to find the right players in the middle of the season. It was interesting and we managed to survive, even now, when they are asking me, I am telling them 'I am still alive'", said the 50-year-old Slovenian at "rtvslo.si" website.
