Dimitris Kalyvas from Boeotia Region was a member of the Central Refereeing Committee from November 2012 until October 2014, when he resigned with the rank of substitute president. Panathinaikos' administration decided to propose him after former referee Giorgos Bikas' denial, since they have offered the position to him at first.
The Greens have informed the other Super League's clubs for their request, with Atromitos' president Giorgos Spanos as the representative of the "12 small/medium teams", and they will probably speak about that issue on Tuesday's Super League's Board of Directors' meeting.
According to recent information, Olympiakos seem positive to Dimitris Kalyvas' candidacy, while the opinions of AEK and PAOK are still expected. He was a member of the Central Refereeing Committee for alomst two years, at first as Head of Football League's referees' appointments and then he did the exact same job for Super League.
In August 20, 2013, Dimitris Kalyvas was brutally attacked by a bunch of hooligans outside Fyli Municipality Stadium, after the end of that season's Referees' Athletic Testings.
