"First of all, I want to congratulate PAOK, because they were the best team of Play Offs, it was an unsuccessful and disappointing season for me and Panathinaikos. We could and should had gone much better, thankfully 2015-16 is over and we will get some rest now, in order to return stronger and not accept that kind of failure ever again.
Europa League elimination against Gabala FK was the beginning of all the negative things, a real shock for us that we never managed to overcome mentally. We tried to move forward, our manager was replaced by a new one with different ideas, we fought hard and tried to forget it with his help.
Gabala FK was the zero point of our season, but it happened at the beginning of 2015-16, so it is not really explaining anything. I don't want to make promises for our fans, the only thing I can tell is that we understand their feelings and we will give our best in order to make them proud again in the future.
PAOK were winning matches during the Play Offs, while we were losing points because of individual mistakes, such as in away game against Panionios and at PAOK clash at Leoforos Stadium. The Play Offs were very weird for us this year and everything went wrong, I hope that we all learned from our mistakes and I stand by the side of my teammates, so we could be successful again soon.
Panathinaikos should be participating in Champions League, I knew that the team has great tradition in this competition even before joining them five years ago. We wanted to advance to the qualifiers, but in the end we will play at the Europa League, so we will fight for a solid campaign there", said the 28-year-old former player of Vitória Setúbal at SDNA.
