The officials of HFF had agreed with Deputy Minister of Sports Stavros Kontonis in April to make some changes at their book of regulations, in order to balance it with that of FIFA, because they wanted from him to change his decision about the interruption of Greek Cup and avoid the threat of a possible "Grexit".
Of course, the most important change is that of notorious article 5, which is not allowing the newly founded Ethics Committee to investigate any criminal activity that took place before the summer of 2015 and only if no other legal institution of the Federation has ever dealt with the past cases.
The current administration of the Hellenic Football Federation does not want this article to be replaced, because many of their Board of Directors' members and "allies" will then face charges for their alleged participation in greek football's criminal organization and have to deal with the same legal problems as Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini of FIFA-UEFA.
People of Giorgos Girtzikis' close environment are claiming that he will not agree to any changes (something that the president of HFF has done many times in the past) if Stavos Kontonis does not edit his Sports Law as well, something that they are going to ask from FIFA in order to press him.
Such a move will definitely be encountered as "casus belli" from the Greek Deputy Minister of Sports and this case's progress, which is expected to be finalized until Hellenic Football Federation's General Meeting on June 14, is expected with great interest...
