Poyet believes that Sports Minister, Stavros Kontonis had to stop all the football action in Greece because the situation the Greek football lives in has reached the limits.
“I am 100 per cent in agreement with the Sports Minister that football had to be stopped because we’d reached a limit difficult to control. The mistake was to just stop the cup. He should have stopped ALL football. I don’t think the solution was to go against the four teams in the semis. It makes no sense. When he takes the decision to stop he has to stop everything," Poyet told the Sun.
Also Poyet expressed his opinion that the trials need to decide as soon as possible over the scandals the Greek football has faced recently.
“There are many investigations that come back to Olympiakos. I hear people talk. Did I see anything? Put it this way. Was that incident at the PAOK game a penalty in favour of PAOK? Yes, 100 per cent. Is this because there is corruption in Greek football? I don’t know. There I must stop and let the investigations conclude. Greek football will go from bad to worse unless the investigations reach a rapid conclusion. The best thing would be clarification. Finding out the truth. I would like the trials to take place ‘yesterday’, if there are to be trials.”
