The Ghanaian footballer explains why he chose Panathinaikos and answers why he didn't play frequently for AC Milan. Why did you choose to sign in Panathinaikos? Is was money or something else?
"It is a different league and a different experience for me which is one of the reasons I chose Panathinaikos. Secondly the Management were good in showing me their project which appealed to me especially trying to qualify and play in the champions league. I have been lucky to play in so many champions league games including being involved in 2 finals and I hope I can do the same with Panathinaikos. That was a motivation in joining the Greens"Why do you think that you did not play more in Milan?
"Football is a team game and every team has 22+ players. Only 11 can play at anyone time and as a player all you can do is train hard and make yourself available to the coach for selection. That’s all I tried to do and the selection wasn’t down to me. The coach makes that decision and unfortunately for me I wasn’t selected as much as I would have liked to be but that’s football for you"
In Greece there is a court case for the existence of "criminal organization" in football. Panathinaikos threatens not to compete in the new league. What do you think about all these?
"I will rather not comment on a situation that I don’t know much about. I will be in Greece to play football and that’s all I am looking forward to. As a player all you can do is train hard and make yourself available for the team for selection. I am ready to fight for the club unless I am told otherwise"What are your first impressions of the people of Panathinaikos and coach Yannis Anastasiou?
"Very impressed with everything thing I have experienced so far. The negotiations with the senior managers were good, the coach was clear how he wants me to contribute to the team and I am looking forward to it. As for the fans what can I say? They turned out after midnight and that is incredible. I will try and repay the faith in me by giving 100% to achieve our target".How does he comment on the reception of Panathinaikos fans?
"As I have said already I have never experienced anything like it in my footballing career and its like going back to Ghana for one of my charity events where the people always support me. It really makes me feel humble and I hope I can repay the faith the fans have in me. The best I can do is train hard, fight in games and support the rest of the team in anyway I can".What information has about Greek football and the Olympiacos?
"My knowledge about Greek football is from what I have seen during Champions league games and what I have heard from my friends Djibril Cisse and Mahamadou Diarra. The level is good and you can see that from champions League football. Hopefully I will have first hand experience soon"What are his objectives with Panathinaikos?
"The first objective for me is to make sure I prove to the coach that I am good enough to be in the first 11. For the team our first important objective is to qualify for the champions league group stages and also to fight for the league and any other cup tournaments we are involved in. I know these are all ambitious targets but we need self belief to go with what the coach wants us to do and I have no doubt we will be fine".
