Weems gave a dazzling display against Panathinaikos on Monday night and he was by far the best player of CSKA on the court despite the defeat.
“We responded too little too late. Panathinaikos didn't surprise me. We knew that they would fight back after the two straight defeats in Moscow. Now we have to be more focused ahead of the fourth game as our aim is to finish off the series and go through to the Final Four,” Weems told SDNA.
Weems also paid tribute to the Greek coach Dimitris Itoudis who has made an impact since he has been in charge. “I don't want to compare Itoudis with the previous coaches. With the previous ones CSKA managed to score just 60 points in each game. Itoudis have faith on us and he has boosted us with determination. We feel comfortable with him,” Weems acknowledges.
The 28-year-old American guard is ready to give his best in order to help CSKA win the Euroleague title this season. “If we don't claim the title this season, we will never manage to do it. We've got a brilliant squad in depth and we work very hard. We've got tremendous confidence,” he added.
