The owner of iefimerida.gr- one of the most successful Greek portals- Christos Raptis, wrote an article about what happened. After reading it, the question that arises is “What else has to happen before a district attorney takes the situation into his hands?”.
Here is the full article: “Unfortunately, we live in a crazy, scary world. Especially in football, where some people have dark, special interests and try to... make a career in political corruption.
Strangely, although these people break the law on a daily basis and their “henchmen” do whatever they want, they never get punished. Sports editors and journalists get beat up or are fired because they have the courage to write about the “barbarism” in Greece. Skai and Giannis Alafouzos are under... attack the last months.
Now, it was our turn. One of our journalists wrote at iefinerida.gr an article title “That's why AEK stadium must be built”, although he is an Olympiacos fan, and a few days later I saw someone throwing a cup of yogurt towards my direction.
Before that incident, we were the target of abusive and threatening phone calls from a particular football strongman. We got some calls late at night from a specific Pakistani cell phone number. We have to press charges and I've decided to take legal action against them.
The new government must interfere before it's too late. They have to deal with the problem of musclemen and they have to do it effectively”.
