"I talked to mr Fyssas and he offered me an administrative position", the 38-year-old Brazilian said. "I explained to him the situation with my knee, I told him that I still wanted to play football and then there was a new offer, to close my career at Panathinaikos. I told him to wait and see how my recovery goes and when I would be 100% ready, we could talk again. It wouldn't be right to come to Greece, everybody thinking that I could play and then maybe they would discover that I would need more time. It is not something I would like to happen".
At the end of March Gilberto will have news about his condition and he believes that he make talk with Panathinaikos again. "Anything could happen. I am not sure I will return, although we have been talking. The most important thing for me right now is to find my form, because I have been suffering for over a year now and that is not pleasant. I am confident that I will make it and that I will be back very soon".
