The Greens have been punished twice with point deduction during the last two seasons, for the behavior of their fans in home derby clashes against Olympiakos. In 2014-15, Panathinaikos were punished with -3 points, two matches behind closed doors and a 100.000 euros fine, losing their hopes of winning Super League although they had won derby against the Reds by 2-1.

This season, the game against Olympiakos at Leoforos Stadium in November never even started after referee Andreas Pappas' controversial decision and the Greens were punished with -3 points, four matches behind closed doors and a 190.000 euros fine, while Deputy Minister Stavros Kontonis also closed Gate 13 of their hardcore fans.

Before Monday's punishment for the riots after Atromitos' clash, AEK were also banned last season because some of their fans stormed in the field after Franco Jara's goal for Olympiakos in the last minute of Greek Cup's quarter final in Olympic Stadium of Athens. The Disciplinary Committee of Hellenic Football Federation punished AEK with -3 points from Football League, two matches behind closed doors and a 17.000 euros fine.

PAOK suffered the heavy punishment of these three clubs this season, although they have made an appeal against it and are still waiting for the decision: -5 points and three (plus two for Kalloni, Panionios home clashes) matches behind closed doors for their fans' behavior in interrupted Greek Cup's semi final against Olympiakos at Toumba Stadium.

Thessaloniki club was not punished last season, but in 2013-14 suffered a 3-points deduction from Play Offs (which dramatically decreased their chances of winning the first position), two matches behind closed doors and a 50.000 euros fine, once again after a Greek Cup's semi final against Olympiakos at their home stadium (1-0).

As we can see, in five of the six times AEK, PAOK and Panathinaikos were punished with points deduction, this happened after home games against Olympiakos and especially in two decisive Greek Cup matches (AEK-Olympiakos 0-1 in 2015 and PAOK-Olympiakos 1-2 this year) with serious mistaken decisions by the referees in favor of the Reds.

-17 points for AEK, PAOK, Panathinaikos the last two seasons
