The Sports Professional Committee has been investigating whether Marinakis was still being involved in Olympiakos board despite the restrictions he has received from the special investigator, Giorgos Andreadis due to his alleged involvement in the criminal organisation scandal in Greek football.
Today, the Sports Professional Committee issued a verdict that Marinakis is involved in Olympiakos board despite those restrictions and therefore he is due to pay a fine in the region of 300,000 euros.
The Sports Professional Committe came to this conclusion with votes of 4-3 against Mr Marinakis.
The members of the Committee saw their votes equal at 3-3, but due to the fact that the president's vote of Konstantinos Papalakis is considered as double, the outcome was 4-3 against the Olympiakos president.
The members Irini Maroupa and Georgios Vamvoukas also voted against Marinakis.
It remains to be seen whether Marinakis's position as Olympiakos president is in danger and whether he can retain legally the title of the president at the Greek champions.
