Stavros Kontonis, deputy Minister of Sports, spoke about what happened in the game Veria-Olympiakos where flares were dropped twice in the stadium by Olympiacos fans but referee Mitsios did not suspend the game -as he owed to under the disciplinary law; with a notice issued by the GGA on Tuesday (3/11).
The Ministry speaks of "violation phenomena regarding the regulations of conduct that cause the reaction of the public opinion", stating about the referees, Super League and EPO, that "the failure or the unjustified tolerance on their part to such events cannot be accepted "!
Noting that compliance with the disciplinary measures does not affect the Ministry, but solely the organizing authorities and referees, with the state indicating -in any case- ready to help.

"Following the fact that recently in football there were several events of violating gaming regulations, which already causes the reaction of the fans opinion, it should be clear that the strict compliance and the proper implementation of the disciplinary or other measures fall within the exclusive responsibility the respective institutions of football (organizing authorities, referees), which themselves are exclusively responsible drafting the regulations and their implementation.
Thus any failure or unjustifiable tolerance by them to such events cannot be accepted.
The state stands ready in all circumstances to assist the bodies of football, so issues related to football fan spirit of full compliance with the regulations in absolute equality of rights status and especially the safety of spectators and athletes to be consolidated as the dominant part of footballing reality in the country .”
