The trial that has been postponed 5 times, will reopen tomorrow, God willing, at the Third Three-Member Misdemeanors Court of Athens.
The mayor of Volos is charge for his attempt to blackmail the former referee Giorgos Daloukas before the game of Aris against Panathinaikos (0-1) back in September 2010. Taking the word marked when the referee gave the penalty to Vyntra and made Vagelis Marinakis to call it..."a crime against Greece"!
The prosecution against Achilleas Beos' attempted extortion dating back in the spring of 2011 by the sport prosecutor Konstantinos Simitzoglou after complaints made by Alexis Kougias and Sotiris Vorgias, together with illegally recorded conversations in which Beos is the only one heard.
According to the indictment, the then major shareholder of Olympiakos Volos tried to influence Daloukas before the game in question, in order for him to favour Aris.
The witnesses who have been called to testify in court are besides Giorgos Daloukas are: the former president of Panathinaikos FC, Nicolas Pateras (who had denounced Beos as the interceptor the recordings), Sophocles Pilavios, Alexis Kougias, Sotiris Vorgias,Kyros Vassaras, Vassilis Terovitsas.
However, it is rumored that Beos and Daloukas came to an uderstanding, a speculation no one confirms......
