"ΑΕΚ have done not steps but strides forward. Evey day they move on a little to return where they were. And all the players, the coaches and Angelopoulos management are responsible for this. AEK are on the right way as they already play in the Eurocup" said Sakota.
AEK face a lot of injury problems: "Injuries are never an excuse. No team should use them for en excuse. Injuries hurt the team in a period that team chemistry must be found and we should be ready for the tough games in the beginning of the season. It's basketball though and we can not cry for our fate. We will get over it"
Sakota compared this season to the last: "The conditions are different now. We are in a better form. We are not going to use the injuries as an excuse. We are AEK and there is no chance not to fight for every win. This is the clubs' obligation. We can be competitive in the games against Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. We did this last season. We made it difficult for them at Peace and Frienship Stadium. Maybe we can win a game against them".
Sakota commented on Aris and PAOK reinforcements: "Both teams are reinforced. That's good for the league. I believe in our team and our coaches and we can finish higher that we did last season. We are afraid of nothing. The roster has great quality and the fans will be by our side".
The 27-year-old forward had responded to Nikos Diplaros comments: "I felt the need to react. I am the captain of a big club and when I know that someone does not respect them, I react. I've learnt AEK as a huge club, I am the captain and I am obliged to give my opinion. I wish him to make a great career".
