The terrorism and the silencing against SDNA and its journalist goes on with fascist, awful and dangerous ways which make the intervention of the district attorney and the one of the new government vital.
The editor in chief of SDNA, Thanasis Asproulias, was attacked and hit by Olympiakos supporters in front of the eyes of Olympiakos executives who just watched the attack without taking any action. Among them it was Olympiakos press officer Kostas karapapas, with whom Thanasis Asproulias was a colleague for many years in Goal newspaper. Karapapas was very close but he did nothing to prevent the attack. Karapapas may also be checked for instigation because of what he writes consistently on his facebook profile against SDNA and other media which may irritate being critical with Olympiakos at times.
The incident took place in the departure area of Athens International Airport, where Thanasis Asproulias was after his arrival from the Eurobasket in France. Olympiakos squad was about to travel to Xanthi for tomorrow’s game in the Greek Super League. Olympiakos fans gathered around Thanasis Asproulias and they started threatening and insulting him with the most disgusting way.
The SDNA editor in chief did not react and stayed calm despite the threatening atmosphere. After he was touched by someone, a hooligan thought that he had to use violence, kicking Aspoulias in the foot and causing a swelling in his ankle and his metatarsal.
The threatening behaviour against journalists has gone out of control and it is described as dangerous even for their life! Those who want to control the sporting industry in a fascist way, they do not hesitate to silence media and journalists with what they can.
The sacking of SDNA journalist Alexis Spyropoulos from OTE TV because he was disliked by Olympiakos it was another sign of their fascist way of thinking. Now, just a few days after Spyropoulos’s axe, the attack against Thanasis Asproulis in front of the eyes of Olympiakos executives, shows that they try as much as they can to silence us.
Actually, after every single attack from Olympiakos press officer Kostas Karapapas against SDNA though his awful facebook profile, the threats to SDNA are coming constantly. Also, bear in mind, that a suspicious visit under the premises of our website has also taken place in the past and it has been recorded through cameras.
After this attack against Asproulias, we ask the intervention of the state, which we describe as highly important. The district attorney has to investigate the incident as well as the new government and the new Minister of Sport. We, as SDNA, will continue to be critical without deceit and deliberation, and we will continue to reveal whatever happens, as we have promised since our first day. We will not be stopped by threatens and attacks, however the state has to take its own responsibilities. Because for whatever happens from now on they will be responsible as well if they continue to ignore and let some fascists to act in sport.
